REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, EC 1907/2006) is the European Union’s (EU) chemical substances regulatory framework. REACH requires Kingston to provide customers with sufficient information on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) contained in products in concentration above 0.1% weight by weight (w/w) to allow safe use of the product.

EU REACH SVHC Disclosure on Candidate List.

Substances of Very High Concern

Suppliers of articles must provide recipients with information on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) if those are present above a concentration limit of 0.1% on an article level. SVHC will be defined through the list of candidate substances for authorization that will be produced by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

The European Court Justice ruled in December 2015, that articles assembled or joined together in a complex product remain as articles and are covered by the relevant duties to notify and provide information when they contain a substance of very high concern in a concentration above 0.1% of their mass. Suppliers must provide recipients with information on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) if those are present above a concentration limit of 0.1% on a component article level.

REACH Declaration Requests

Kingston is committed to meet all REACH requirements and we will provide our customers with information about substances in our products that are within the scope of the regulation. A declaration can be provided upon request.
