Important Configuration Notes

  • MODULES MUST BE ORDERED AND INSTALLED IN IDENTICAL GROUPS OF EIGHT FOR MAXIMUM MEMORY PERFORMANCE.
  • Per Intel, mixing module types (x4 and x8) is NOT allowed within a bank group or channel.
  • Mixing ranks with 16Gbit-based modules is permitted within a channel if they are the same module type (2Rx4 + 1Rx4 / 2Rx8 + 1Rx8). 2R (Dual Rank) DIMMs must always be populated in the first memory bank if combined with 1R (Single Rank) DIMMs installed in the second memory bank.
  • Per Intel, 5600MT/s is supported in 1DPC (1 DIMM per channel) configuration with select 5th Gen Intel Xeon processor models, while mid- and low-tier models may limit memory speed to 5200MT/s or 4400MT/s. 4th Gen Intel Xeon models support up to 4800MT/s with select Platinum and Gold models. Check with Intel for supported memory speeds by processor model.
  • In 2DPC (2 DIMMs per channel), or 16 DIMMs per processor, the maximum memory speed supported by both 4th and 5th Gen Xeons is 4400MT/s.
  • All 5600MT/s and 4800MT/s memory will safely clock down to slower speeds when forced by the chipset/processor.
  • Intel limits compatibility of 24Gbit-based modules (24GB, 48GB, 96GB) to select 4th/5th Gen Xeon (XCC, MCC) processor models.
  • 24GB and 48GB modules must be installed in complete groups of 8 in "bank 0" only (1DPC). These CANNOT be mixed with any other module types. Only 96GB modules can be installed in 2DPC and ALL sockets must be populated.
  • Refer to manual for supported memory configurations and speeds.

Compatible Upgrades For Your System

Kingston FURY Renegade with Heatsink (SFYRSK/xxxG, SFYRDK/xxxG) will fit in most systems that can accommodate its size (~80mm x 23.67mm x 10.5mm). This includes a variety of motherboards, desktops, gaming PCs and the PlayStation 5. If you are uncertain whether it will fit, please review your system manufacturer’s support manual, or contact Kingston Technical Support.
Note: Some small-form-factor systems like Intel® NUC cannot physically accommodate the height of the heatsink. In these circumstances, we suggest FURY Renegade without heatsink (SFYRS/xxxG, SFYRD/xxxG).
