Important Configuration Notes

  • DDR3 modules automatically clock down depending on which Intel Xeon processor is used and the number of modules installed.
  • Quad Rank LRDIMMs memory will operate at 1066MHz
  • Due to chipset limitations, Unbuffered ECC DIMMs are limited to TWO banks per processor. The third memory bank must be unpopulated.
  • Kingston offers Unbuffered ECC UDIMM, Registered RDIMM and Load Reduced LRDIMM memory modules. Modules of different memory types CANNOT be mixed within the same system.
  • 4GB DDR3-1333 Reg ECC modules come in two versions: 313/4G using x4 and 3138/4G using x8 DRAM. The two parts may be installed in the same system but not within the same memory bank. Use like modules for dual and triple channel operation.
