Important Configuration Notes

  • Kingston offers both Registered RDIMM and Load Reduced LRDIMM memory modules. Registered and Load Reduced modules CANNOT be mixed within the same system.
  • The minimum configuration is one DIMM installed in any of CPU1's blue sockets (A1, B1, C1, or D1). When populating a channel, start with blue sockets first, then fill black sockets inward toward the CPU. DIMMs should be installed in identical GROUPS OF FOUR for highest quad channel performance.
  • DDR3 modules automatically clock down depending on which Intel Xeon processor is used and the number of modules installed.
