Kingston offers both Registered RDIMM and Load Reduced LRDIMM memory modules. Registered and Load Reduced modules CANNOT be mixed within the same system.
The minimum configuration is one DIMM installed in any of CPU1's blue sockets (A1, B1, C1, or D1). When populating a channel, start with blue sockets first, then fill black sockets inward toward the CPU. DIMMs should be installed in identical GROUPS OF FOUR for highest quad channel performance.

DDR3 modules automatically clock down depending on which Intel Xeon processor is used and the number of modules installed.
