DDR3 modules automatically clock down depending on which Intel Xeon processor is used and the number of modules installed.
Kingston recommends installing K4 kits for optimal quad channel performance configurations.
Due to chipset limitations Quad Rank memory will operate at 1066MHz with 1 DIMM per Channel or 800MHz with 2 DIMMs per Channel. Three Quad Rank DIMMs per Channel is not supported.

Unbuffered ECC DIMMs are limited to 2 DIMMs per Channel banks per processor.
This system supports either Registered ECC or Unbuffered ECC memory. Mixing Registered ECC and Unbuffered ECC modules is not supported within this system.
