  • Both DIMM slots in a memory bank must be populated. Banks must be populated in sequential alphabetic order, starting with bank A.
  • Both DIMMs in a memory bank must be identical. Install identical DIMMs as pairs only. starting with DIMM socket 1, bank A. DIMM banks are active only when the corresponding processor is installed.
  • Kits must be installed in decreasing capacity with the largest kits installed in the banks furthest away from each processor.
  • Per HP, the memory bus will operate at 800MHz with four (4) or fewer DIMMs per processor, 677MHz with six (6) DIMMs per processor, and 533MHz with eight (8) DIMMs per processor.
