If 4GB is installed, the recognized memory may be reduced to 3.5GB or less (depending on system configuration and memory allocation). Maximum configurations require a 64-bit operating system.
This system supports either Registered ECC (RDIMM), ECC Unbuffered (ECC UDIMM) or Load Reduced (LRDIMM) memory using Xeon E5 series processors. Mixing RDIMMs, ECC UDIMMs and LRDIMMs is not supported within this system.
Non-ECC Unbuffered (UDIMM) memory is supported only with Core i7 3800/3900 series processors. System does not support RDIMM or LRDIMM when Core i7 processor is installed.

The Intel E5-1600 only supports ECC UDIMMs and RDIMMs.
Modules must be ordered and installed in PAIRS for Dual Channel mode, or in groups of FOUR for Quad Channel mode. Kingston offers "K2" kit part numbers for Dual Channel mode, and "K4" kit part numbers for Quad Channel mode.
