Per ASUS, when installing DDR2-1066 DIMMs, they must be installed in the BLACK DIMM sockets ONLY (one DIMM per channel).

This system supports both DDR2 and DDR3 memory modules. Only one type of memory may be used, mixing DDR2 and DDR3 memory types is not allowed.
