Solving post-production workflow challenges for media and television

Centreville Télévision, founded in 1982 and based in Paris, France, is a leading provider of post-production services. Located in the heart of the French media and entertainment sector, Centreville Télévision offers a comprehensive range of facilities, including cyclorama studios, virtual shooting sets, mixing auditoriums, editing rooms, VFX services and colour grading.

The demands of modern media and entertainment

As the pressures on media production and the associated workflows increased, Centreville Télévision identified the need for the most adaptable and high-performance workstations to keep up with growing demand. These workstations needed to run a variety of industry-standard software suites, such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Suite, DaVinci Resolve, Unreal Engine, Aximmetry, ZBrush, Blender and Substance.

The goal was to ensure seamless performance for their VFX and virtual production departments, which require robust and reliable hardware to handle intensive tasks.

Tailoring high-performance solutions for media

To address their needs, LAFI, a leading French distributor and integrator, collaborated with ASUS and Kingston Technology. The teams from LAFI, ASUS and Kingston worked closely with Centreville Télévision to deliver the best performance at an efficient cost.

The process began identifying the specific needs and requirements for the overhaul of their workstations. This provided Centreville Télévision with a cutting-edge solution designed for exceptional performance. The key components of this solution included the ASUS ProArt Z790 Creator Wi-Fi Motherboard, equipped with USB 4, 10 Gb Ethernet, DisplayPort inputs and Thunderbolt ports to ensure high-speed connectivity and versatility.

For the graphics card, the ASUS ProArt GeForce RTX 4080 Super OC Edition was chosen for its cooling performance, in particular the 2.5-slot design with a custom heatsink (the VGA card is manufactured using the Auto-Extreme Technology, a cutting-edge automated manufacturing process optimised for durability and reliability).

Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 Memory was selected to enable Centreville Télévision to run high-intensity applications without compromise, providing the speed and reliability needed for demanding production environments. And for storage, Kingston FURY Renegade SSDs proved the perfect solution, offering fast NVMe speeds and the capacities required for handling large media files.

LAFI then integrated these components, assigned a project manager to ensure the smooth implementation of the high-performance workstations and oversaw the entire process from start to finish.

Production workflows transformed

The collaboration between ASUS, Kingston and LAFI has delivered remarkable results for Centreville Télévision. The new workstations have empowered editors, colourists and graphic designers to work seamlessly in 4K, handling high-intensity applications with ease. Additionally, the workstations were designed to adapt to industry advancements, meeting the growing demands of the audiovisual sector, particularly as formats and codecs continue to evolve.

A partnership made for media

By working with Kingston, ASUS and LAFI, Centreville Télévision has transformed its post-production capabilities, enabling it to meet the demands of modern media production with confidence. This collaboration highlights the importance of leveraging cutting-edge technology with trusted partnerships and expertise to deliver high-performance solutions tailored to the needs of professional production environments.
