Will adding Kingston void your customer’s system memory?

Kingston has heard of instances where a computer manufacturer’s sales representative has told customers if they use third-party memory in the manufacturer’s computer system, the warranty is voided. This may not be true – they may be attempting to coerce customers into purchasing memory modules from the system manufacturer, usually at much higher prices than Kingston’s. Please ask customers to confirm such a requirement is in the manufacturer agreement. Even so, such a requirement may be illegal if it unreasonably restrains trade or lessens market competition. Customers should consult their legal advisor on this.
