Digital Transformation: Sustaining Success in a New Business Era

Digital Transformation: The Drivers, Impact, and Importance

Pre-Covid, many IT functions had been planning and implementing digital transformation projects, taking tasks and processes from the physical to the virtual. But since the pandemic struck in early 2020, we have seen a seismic shift in these projects being brought to the forefront, based on new business needs, rather than long-term strategy and desires.

The necessity of execution has meant that planned digital offerings have reduced from seven years to just a few months, confirmed by 80% of executives agreeing that customer interactions are now fulfilled digitally.{{Footnote.A64811}}

While it may be easy and more convenient to look at wide-scale shifts to digitization to solve core business issues, replicating what happened when organizations' hands were forced, it is imperative to take a step back and a wider view about what they are looking to achieve, why they are doing it, while getting the buy-in of those who are critical to its success and failure. These fundamental behaviors will determine whether true business change can be achieved and, in turn, allow organizations to stay competitive in a new world.

This eBook looks at the strategic importance of digital transformation. We uncover its impact with use cases, discuss the biggest areas of application focus, and explore what the future holds—with key insights from some of the industry’s top experts.
